Andromeda\u2019n\u0131n hareketini ve \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 inceleyen astronomlar, ilk kez 1912 y\u0131l\u0131nda bu galaksinin Samanyolu ile \u00e7arp\u0131\u015fma rotas\u0131nda oldu\u011funu tahmin ettiler. Andromeda, <strong>saniyede 110 kilometre<\/strong> h\u0131zla Samanyolu\u2019na yakla\u015f\u0131yor. Oysa bu t\u00fcr birle\u015fmeler 6 milyar ila 10 milyar y\u0131l \u00f6nce s\u0131k\u00e7a g\u00f6r\u00fclen bir olayd\u0131. Sawala ve ekibi, Gaia ve Hubble uzay teleskoplar\u0131ndan elde edilen son g\u00f6zlemleri kullanarak <strong>Yerel Grup<\/strong>\u2019un (Samanyolu ve Andromeda\u2019n\u0131n yan\u0131 s\u0131ra di\u011fer birka\u00e7 galaksinin yer ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 grup) evrimini sim\u00fcle ettiler. Bu sim\u00fclasyonlar, \u00f6zellikle yak\u0131ndaki daha k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck galaksilerin yer\u00e7ekimsel etkilerini tam olarak hesaba katt\u0131\u011f\u0131nda, iki galaksinin <strong>\u00e7arp\u0131\u015fma olas\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131<\/strong> 10 milyar y\u0131ll\u0131k bir s\u00fcre\u00e7te <strong>y\u00fczde 50\u2019ye kadar d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcr\u00fcyor<\/strong>. <\/figure>\n<p>Sim\u00fclasyonlarda <strong>Triangulum <\/strong>galaksisi (M33) gibi di\u011fer b\u00fcy\u00fck galaksiler hesaba kat\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131nda, birle\u015fme olas\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 artt\u0131. Ancak <strong>B\u00fcy\u00fck Macellan Bulutu<\/strong>\u2019nun y\u00f6r\u00fcngesi dahil edildi\u011finde, \u00e7arp\u0131\u015fma olas\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 azald\u0131. \u00c7arp\u0131\u015fman\u0131n ger\u00e7ekle\u015fmemesi durumunda, galaksilerin birbirlerinden uzak bir mesafeden ge\u00e7ecekleri \u00f6ng\u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcyor. Zira o zamana kadar D\u00fcnya \u00fczerinde var olan insanl\u0131k \u00e7oktan yok olmu\u015f olacak.
